Portrait Photography By Nathan David Kelly Nathan David Kelly has always been interested in portraiture especially as a representation of fleeting moments of time in a persons life. Nathan's interest in people ranges from the famous to people on the street and his work in this field is highly acclaimed with him being named one of Australia's top thirty photography graduates in 1997 by Australian Photography Magazine (December/January 1997) and as a runner up in The Wollongong Photographic Portrait Prize in 2003 with a portrait of Mark Seymour (see exhibitions page). Trying to capture the inner essence of a person has lead Nathan to create images of sublime beauty, many of his images have found homes in some of Australia's most prominent collections including The National Library, The National Portrait Gallery and in 2004 Kelly was commisioned to create a series of portraits of Australia's Military commanders during the second gulf war for the Australian War Memorial.
